About The Position
The Database Administrator Senior position is a critical role within a leading utility company, focusing on the administration and optimization of Oracle database environments. This position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in database administration, particularly with Oracle technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the AMI's MDMS Oracle database environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of the databases. The role involves setting up and administering Oracle Exadata machines, planning migrations to Exadata, and optimizing Oracle databases to meet the company's operational needs. In addition to technical responsibilities, the Database Administrator Senior will create and execute scripts for database management and work closely with vendors to set up and optimize work and asset management Oracle databases. The candidate will also be expected to recommend and implement best practices for configuring and running Oracle Exadata, following enterprise standards for Oracle database setup and administration. This position is hybrid, allowing for a combination of remote and on-site work in New York, NY. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Oracle database technologies, including Exadata administration, Oracle Data Guard, and Oracle Real Application Clusters. They should possess excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to coach developers in query optimization. This role is a contract position, offering a competitive pay range of $65-75 per hour, depending on experience.
