About the position

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support databases in the government facility.
  • Handle the design, creation, and maintenance of computerized databases.
  • Ensure quality control and auditing of databases for proper data use.
  • Manage company databases and support the information they store.
  • Integrate advanced security measures to prevent data breaches.
  • Perform regular tests on databases to ensure functionality and fix bugs.
  • Troubleshoot user issues and merge legacy databases.
  • Perform updates to improve database efficiency.

Requirements

  • Secret Clearance
  • 8 years' relevant work experience
  • Proficient in database management systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.
  • Advanced knowledge of database design, implementation, optimization, and maintenance
  • Expert in SQL querying, stored procedures, triggers, and other database scripting languages
  • Experience in performance tuning, capacity planning, and troubleshooting database issues
  • Familiarity with database security principles and best practices
  • Ability to design and implement backup and disaster recovery solutions
  • Competence in database monitoring and automation tools
  • Strong understanding of data integrity, normalization, and data modeling concepts
  • Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database)
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to document database architectures, processes, and procedures comprehensively
  • Commitment to staying updated with the latest database technologies and trends
  • Leadership capabilities to mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance
  • Project management skills to effectively manage database-related projects from conception to completion
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field (work experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree)
  • IAT Level II certification/DoD 8570 certifications (CAP, CASP+ CE, CISM, CISSP (or Associate), GSLC, CCISO, HCISPP)
