As the largest provider of IT services, Leidos develops and sustains large data and technology infrastructures and integrates complex law enforcement IT systems for several US federal agencies. This role is focused on serving a federal law enforcement agency in Huntsville, Alabama. The position involves designing, implementing, and maintaining moderately complex databases, as well as maintaining database dictionaries and ensuring the integration of systems through effective database design. The individual will administer and test computer databases, applying their knowledge of database management systems, and coordinate changes to these databases. Additionally, the role may involve planning, coordinating, and implementing security measures to safeguard computer databases. The successful candidate will be part of an agile operations team of contract support staff responsible for maintaining several legacy systems, making minor enhancements to still-in-use applications, ensuring continued authority to operate, and ultimately sunsetting those systems after their functions have been replaced by the Insider & Security Analytics Platform. This team is accountable for system administration, information system security accreditation, database administration, physical infrastructure maintenance, and software development. In this role, the individual will provide technical and management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments, establish goals and plans that meet project objectives, and serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with exceptional qualifications and/or expertise. The SME will perform functions such as initiating, supervising, and developing requirements from a project's inception to conclusion for complex programs, providing strategic advice and technical guidance to program and project staff, and conducting detailed analysis and evaluation to recommend improvements and solutions to client-specific challenges. The decision-making and domain knowledge of the individual may have a critical impact on overall project implementation, and they may also supervise others.
