About The Position

As a Database Administrator at GDIT, you will deliver insights to help clients turn data into actionable solutions, addressing big-data challenges and advancing their missions. This role combines database administration with system administration in a multi-cloud environment, requiring expertise in various database systems and a commitment to secure operations.

Requirements

• 8+ years of related experience in database administration and system administration.
• Demonstrated experience with SQL Server, Oracle, ELK, and MySQL.
• Experience with CentOS, RHEL, and ESX operating systems.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation tools in a DevOps environment.
• Experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins and GitHub.
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with technical and non-technical personnel.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Python and AWS Lambda.
• Familiarity with service management tools like ServiceNow and JIRA.
• Experience in Agile development and Project Management Framework (PMF).
• Knowledge of security tools such as XACTA and Rapid 7.
• Experience with data analysis and visualization tools.

Responsibilities

• Ensure database administration in multi-cloud environments including Azure and AWS.
• Perform database activities in a secure environment.
• Support multi-level systems and networks.
• Develop and maintain scripts for automation in a DevOps style environment.
• Collaborate with organizational leadership and stakeholders at various levels.
• Optimize, improve, and upgrade databases as needed.
• Verify the integrity of databases and ensure data is retrievable and organized for restoration.
• Back up database systems and manage modifications and merges of databases.
