About the position

As a Database Administrator at GDIT, you will play a crucial role in transforming data into actionable insights for our clients. This position requires a blend of database administration and system administration skills, particularly in multi-cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure and AWS. Your work will directly contribute to the safety and intelligence of our clients' operations, ensuring that data is managed securely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Deliver insights to help clients turn data into action.
• Provide transformative solutions to clients' big-data obstacles.
• Ensure database activities are performed in a secure environment.
• Support multi-level systems and networks.
• Collaborate and communicate with organizational leadership and stakeholders at various levels.
• Optimize, improve, and upgrade databases.
• Back up database systems and verify their integrity.

Requirements

• 8+ years of related experience in database administration and system administration.
• Demonstrated experience with databases in multi-cloud environments.
• Proficiency in SQL Server, Oracle, ELK, and MySQL.
• Experience with CentOS, RHEL, and ESX.
• Familiarity with Operating Systems such as Windows, Linux, and OSX.
• Experience with scripting processes and tools in a DevOps environment.
• Ability to develop using JavaScript, Springs, or Hibernate (HQL).
• Experience with DevOps tools including Jenkins and GitHub.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Python and AWS Lambda.
• Familiarity with service management tools like ServiceNow and JIRA.
• Ability to translate technical information into clear documents and presentations.
• Experience in Agile development and Project Management Framework (PMF).
• Knowledge of security tools such as XACTA, Rapid 7, Web Inspect.
