The position is primarily focused on Change Management, Incident and Problem Management reporting and analysis, and the creation and maintenance of Service Level Agreements. The individual will be responsible for managing communication with clients and maintaining relationships with assigned application areas. This role also involves coordinating multiple staff members who are engaged in internal and external customer file transmission implementations. A significant aspect of this position is coaching and mentoring less experienced team members, alongside overall team management responsibilities. The candidate must possess functional knowledge of the applications supported and their interdependencies. This individual may lead several teams that cross project boundaries, ensuring that both deliverables and projects are met effectively. The role requires a strong background in Progress OpenEdge DBA, with a minimum of 5 years of dedicated, full-time experience. Candidates should be prepared for their Progress OE DBA knowledge to be tested during the selection process. Additionally, the candidate should be comfortable with basic Unix system administration, specifically AIX and Linux, to effectively communicate with system administrators and application development teams. Familiarity with OpenEdge application development, including 4GL, WebSpeed, and AppServer, is essential for effective collaboration with development and support teams. The role also requires competence in OE installation and configuration, Unix shell scripting, and all aspects of OE v10 database administration, including implementation, maintenance, monitoring, tuning, backup, dump/load, recovery/restoration, and troubleshooting. Knowledge of multi-volume databases, after imaging, and OE Replication is also necessary, along with familiarity with OE Management and database security features.
