About the position

Markon Solutions is seeking a skilled Database Administrator to support one of our Intelligence Customers. In this role, you will be integral to the initial installation, configuration, and deployment of a new PeopleSoft HCM implementation. Your expertise will be crucial in providing support for database definition, design, structure, documentation, upgrades, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and protection. You will also be responsible for supporting database application integration, maintaining database support tools, and managing database tables and dictionaries. Additionally, you will perform essential database recovery and backup procedures, ensuring the integrity and availability of our data systems. As a Database Administrator, you will work collaboratively with customers, business analysts, developers, system testers, and end-users in a fast-paced, agile environment. Your recommendations regarding enhancements and improvements to the database environment will be highly valued, as we strive to optimize our systems and processes. Responsibilities

• Assist in the initial installation, configuration, and deployment of a new PeopleSoft HCM implementation.
• Provide support for database definition, design, structure, documentation, upgrades, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and protection.
• Support database application integration.
• Maintain database support tools, database tables and dictionaries.
• Perform database recovery and back-up procedures.
• Provide recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements to database environment.
• Work collaboratively with customers, business analysts, developers, system testers, and end-users in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience (multiple experience levels available).
• Experience administering Oracle databases.
• Ability to perform all database administrative functions, including upgrades, patching applications and performance tuning.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience supporting enterprise-scale databases (thousands of concurrent users, thousands of tables).
• Experience working in an AWS environment.
