About the position

Tandigm Health is seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join their IT Operations team in the greater Philadelphia area. This hybrid role focuses on managing and optimizing the performance, reliability, and security of the company's databases. The Database Administrator will ensure seamless operation of production processes, maintain database integrity, and serve as a subject matter expert in database management best practices. The position offers a collaborative environment and the opportunity to enhance database functions and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain company databases.
  • Make changes to database structure and objects as part of deployments.
  • Maintain the reliability and integrity of databases.
  • Ensure database security, integrity, stability, and system availability.
  • Manage database operations such as replication, backup, and recovery.
  • Perform periodic audits of database access and security.
  • Make recommendations on optimizing stored procedures and jobs.
  • Advise developers on best practices for physical layer database design.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database issues to quickly restore operations.
  • Comply with Tandigm Architecture and Design standards.
  • Identify implications of new application deployments and assist in roll-out.
  • Exhibit superior customer service behavior and communication skills.
  • Support the HiTrust certification process by ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Manage production support processes and complete assigned deployments with compliance to Change Management process.
  • Execute production scripts, including data loads from vendors and Power BI scripts.
  • Continuously improve processes to eliminate repetitive or manual tasks.
  • Enhance and integrate new Azure technology and tools for CICD for deployments.
  • Protect and disclose patient information in accordance with HIPAA standards.
  • Report security events or potential risks to management.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience/professional certification).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a DBA role supporting Microsoft SQL Server or Snowflake.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and administer DBMS with a focus on security, performance, and cost.
  • Proficiency in implementation of data policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Proficiency in developing dynamic SQL, indexing, and optimization.
  • Proficiency in Data Lifecycle Management and Production Deployment best practices.
  • Familiarity with ITIL best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong customer service and communication abilities, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to shift from working independently to collaborating within a team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in administering both Microsoft SQL Server and Snowflake.
  • Vendor certifications for database administration.
