About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator to lead the design of multiple databases, which will involve complex entities, objects, and relationships. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with both relational and non-relational databases, as well as distributed databases. This role requires a deep understanding of database design, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to manage complex projects from ideation to fruition. In this position, you will analyze and define software requirements to determine specifications and standards, propose software solutions, and assess the costs of new and modified systems while engaging in the proposal process. You will be responsible for developing, designing, and editing original applications or modifying third-party applications, as well as testing and approving these applications. Your daily tasks will include translating requirements into solutions, designing databases, writing stored procedures, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maximize database functionality. You will also design, implement, and maintain efficient optimized databases, develop data models and database architecture for multiple applications, and perform transformation, migration, and scripting tasks. Monitoring database performance, conducting regular system updates, ensuring data security and integrity through backups and access controls, and troubleshooting database-related issues will also be key responsibilities in this role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any STEM field
  • 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator (DBA)
  • Proven working experience in software engineering with a solid background in relevant technologies
  • Extensive experience with relational databases and non-relational databases
  • Deep understanding of database design and architecture

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in SQL for managing relational databases
  • Experience with AWS and other cloud platforms
  • Expertise in Database design, ETL processes, and performance tuning
  • Familiarity with automation and scripting
  • Experience with Backup and Recovery, Data Import/Export Technologies
  • Agile/Scrum methodology experience
