About the position

Join General Dynamics IT and be a part of a team that solves some of the world's most complex technical challenges. We are seeking a Database Administrator to help support a new award opportunity in the DC Capital Region. This program provides enterprise-wide IT support to enable the customer to consolidate, modernize, and continuously innovate the delivery of IT services and mission capabilities. These services will deliver exceptional execution value to internal and external mission partners operating in CONUS and OCONUS locations. As the Database Administrator, you will support large and complex Oracle database implementations, ensuring their performance, security, and availability. You will be responsible for database design, implementation, and maintenance, as well as troubleshooting and resolving database issues as they arise. Your role will also involve collaborating with other IT professionals to integrate database solutions with existing systems and applications, ensuring seamless data flow and accessibility. You will play a critical role in optimizing database performance and implementing best practices for database management and security.

Responsibilities

  • Support large and complex Oracle database implementations.
  • Administer Oracle databases and ensure their performance, security, and availability.
  • Collaborate with IT professionals to integrate database solutions with existing systems and applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database issues as they arise.
  • Optimize database performance and implement best practices for database management and security.

Requirements

  • BS degree in a relevant field.
  • 5+ years of experience administering Oracle databases and supporting Oracle database implementations.
  • DoD 8140/IAT II certification (Security+).
  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification.
  • US Citizenship required.
