About the position

The MS Department of Finance & Administration is seeking a Senior Database Administrator (Data Analyst III) for the Office of Information Technology. This role is responsible for the development, enhancement, and maintenance of multi-platform hardware and software operating systems of moderate complexity and risk. The position involves managing, supporting, and maintaining databases, including Oracle Primavera Unifier PPM, DB2, and SQL databases, and requires experience in at least one of these platforms. The Data Analyst III will also manage vendor relations, develop data management architecture, and provide complex technical support while mentoring less experienced staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage, support, and maintain databases including Oracle Primavera Unifier PPM, DB2, and SQL databases.
• Develop and enhance multi-platform hardware and software operating systems.
• Manage vendor relations for complex applications and work with support contractors and software provider engineers.
• Develop data management architecture and design complex organizational data models.
• Provide complex technical support in relevant fields of discipline.
• Mentor less experienced staff and may function in a supervisory role.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Preferred).
• 5-8+ years of IT experience with emphasis in database administration and management.
• Multiple years of direct experience in database administration, maintenance, and end-user support of DB2, Microsoft SQL, or Oracle Primavera Unifier.
• Experience in documentation writing, coding, testing, debugging, and tuning.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in Microsoft SQL administration (5 years preferred).
• Experience in DB2 administration (5 years preferred).
