About the position

The Database Administrator role involves implementing, administering, managing, and monitoring application databases in both production and non-production environments. The position requires ensuring data integrity and security while optimizing database performance through advanced SQL and PL/SQL coding. The role also includes supporting cross-functional teams and leading complex initiatives to improve database performance and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage application databases in production and non-production environments.
  • Ensure data integrity and security is maintained across databases.
  • Develop and optimize Oracle SQL and PL/SQL code.
  • Align DB automation with Enterprise CI/CD workflows using automation orchestrators like Jenkins.
  • Lead initiatives for performance tuning improvements and advise developers on tuning options.
  • Support cross-functional development teams in identifying data relationships and constraints.
  • Analyze and resolve complex issues in development and production databases using Oracle 11/19c.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and fine-tune SQL and PL/SQL on Oracle databases in Solaris/Linux systems.
  • Utilize Oracle SQL Developer for database management tasks.
  • Create data models from scratch using Erwin Modeling tool and data modeling techniques.
  • Develop tools using SQL, PL/SQL, and Linux shell scripts for LDBA support in test and development environments.

Requirements

  • 8 years of experience implementing, administering, managing, and monitoring application databases.
  • Advanced knowledge and expertise in developing and optimizing Oracle SQL and PL/SQL code.
  • Experience with DB automation and CI/CD workflows, particularly with Jenkins or similar platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with APEX development is highly desirable.
  • Experience leading complex initiatives for performance tuning improvements.
  • In-depth knowledge of Oracle internal views, built-in functions, and architecture for data analysis.
  • Proven ability to analyze and resolve complex issues in Oracle databases.
  • Advanced knowledge of monitoring and fine-tuning SQL and PL/SQL on Oracle databases in Solaris/Linux systems.
  • Experience using Oracle SQL Developer for database management.
  • Hands-on experience with Erwin Modeling tool for data modeling.
  • Experience developing tools using SQL, PL/SQL, and Linux shell scripts.
