About The Position
We are seeking a highly experienced Database Administrator with a strong focus on PostgreSQL and AWS RDS. The ideal candidate will have 10-12 years of experience managing Postgres databases, with at least 5 years specifically in cloud environments, preferably AWS. The role involves installing, configuring, patching, migrating, maintaining, and upgrading open-source database platforms, particularly PostgreSQL and AWS RDS. The candidate should have a solid understanding of database coding practices, performance improvement techniques, and experience with various database management tools and practices. The position requires hands-on experience with AWS services, including EC2 and S3, and a strong background in database administration, security policies, user authentication, and IAM. The candidate should also be proficient in troubleshooting, performance assessment, and capacity planning for AWS RDS databases. Strong communication skills are essential, as the role involves client-facing responsibilities and collaboration with various teams.
