About the position

ASRC FEDERAL Broadleaf Division is seeking a Database Administrator to support our customer located at the Pentagon. The Database Administrator will support our Command-and-Control Support Agency (CCSA) Technical Services Division (TSD) support team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully leading multiple projects and departments, and will possess strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. The Database Administrator shall be able to independently design, implement, operate, and maintain database programs and applications. Key responsibilities include writing advanced T-SQL, SQL Server Integrated Services (SSIS), and SSRS packages. The role involves designing, implementing, operating, and maintaining databases and database programs and applications. The Database Administrator will evaluate and recommend available database management system products after matching requirements with system capabilities. Additionally, the position requires determining file organization, indexing methods, and security procedures for specific applications, assisting in the design and use of databases, and ensuring the safekeeping of the databases from accidental or intentional damage or loss. The Database Administrator will monitor the use of databases, frequently support several tasks concurrently, evaluate problems of workflow, organization, and planning, and develop appropriate corrective actions. The role also includes preparing and performing presentations at technical interchange meetings and project design reviews, as well as conducting code and design reviews of subordinate database administrators and peers.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, operate, and maintain database programs and applications.
  • Write advanced T-SQL, SQL Server Integrated Services (SSIS), and SSRS packages.
  • Evaluate and recommend database management system products based on requirements and system capabilities.
  • Determine file organization, indexing methods, and security procedures for specific applications.
  • Assist in the design and use of databases and controls for access to databases.
  • Ensure the safekeeping of databases from accidental or intentional damage or loss.
  • Monitor the use of databases and evaluate problems of workflow, organization, and planning.
  • Prepare and perform presentations at technical interchange meetings and project design reviews.
  • Conduct code and design reviews of subordinate database administrators and peers.

Requirements

  • Ten (10) years of experience in SQL Server database engineering, design, development, management, and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in relevant software, tools, and programming languages as depicted in the technical requirements.
  • Strong understanding of security protocols and procedures for database management.
  • Ability to work independently and manage complex database systems in a secure environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with database administration and development for the US Army and on Command and Control (C2) systems.
  • Experience working in a military or government environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team of database administrators.
  • Familiarity with IT security control implementation procedures.
