About the position

The Database Administrator (DBA) at Innovative Skincare will play a crucial role in the development and maintenance of SQL databases and business intelligence applications. This position is responsible for ensuring the integrity, availability, and security of data across business applications, supporting advanced data analytics initiatives, and troubleshooting user issues. The DBA will work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize database performance and implement robust database architectures.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain robust database architectures that meet business requirements.
  • Develop and implement processes for cleaning, organizing, and transforming data from various sources.
  • Identify and rectify data quality issues, including duplicates, missing values, and inconsistencies.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases.
  • Maintain database for e-commerce sites and partner with external teams and consultants on improvement projects.
  • Support maintaining database for sales site environments in Salesforce or similar and partner with external teams and consultants in managing improvement projects.
  • Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and security of databases.
  • Optimize database performance through regular monitoring, tuning, and maintenance activities.
  • Manage database security, including user access and permissions.
  • Develop and implement automated processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
  • Create scripts and tools to automate routine database maintenance tasks.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve database management processes to increase efficiency.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Reporting, IT, Sales, and Software development.
  • Refine the logical design so that it can be translated into a specific data model.
  • Maintain data standards, change objects database including adherence to the Data Protection Act and abide by IT policies of iS Clinical.
  • Write database documentation, including data standards, procedures, and definitions when necessary.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with major database systems (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL).
  • Proven experience as a Database Administrator with a focus on data cleanup, transformation, architecture, and automation.
  • Experience with ETL tools and processes.
  • Familiarity with machine learning concepts and tools is a plus (e.g., Python, R, TensorFlow, scikit-learn).
  • Knowledge of data warehousing and big data technologies.
  • Experience with cloud database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Databases) is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Mathematics and minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
