About the position

The Senior Logical Database Administrator (LDBA) is responsible for developing and maintaining high-performance enterprise software solutions, primarily focusing on Oracle database technologies. This role involves working with cross-functional teams to enhance the TIERS applications portfolio, ensuring the design, development, maintenance, and improvement of database solutions. The LDBA will utilize Agile methodologies and will be involved in performance monitoring, tuning, and providing database support to application development teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and improve database solutions for the TIERS applications portfolio.
• Work closely with application development teams and business stakeholders to implement new solutions.
• Perform advanced logical database administration and database development, including performance monitoring and tuning.
• Provide application and database operations triage support to troubleshoot and resolve issues in production, development, and test environments.
• Develop and modify existing Linux shell scripts for daily LDBA tasks and provide process documentation.
• Design and develop Enterprise CI/CD workflow for database automation using tools like Jenkins.
• Utilize Agile development practices for backlog grooming and user story development.

Requirements

• 8 years of experience implementing, administering, managing, and monitoring application databases in production and non-production environments.
• 8 years of advanced knowledge in developing and optimizing Oracle SQL, PL/SQL code.
• 8 years of experience with database automation aligned with Enterprise CI/CD workflows and working with automation orchestrators like Jenkins.
• 8 years of hands-on experience with Oracle APEX development.
• 8 years of experience designing and implementing performance tuning improvements and advising developers on tuning options.
• 8 years of in-depth knowledge of Oracle internal views, built-in functions, and architecture for data analysis and query.
• 8 years of advanced experience in monitoring, troubleshooting, and fine-tuning SQL and PL/SQL on Oracle databases in Solaris/Linux environments.
• 8 years of experience using Oracle SQL Developer and Erwin Modeling tool to create data models.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with jQuery and AngularJS.
• Familiarity with IBM WebSphere and PostGreSQL.
