The Database Administrator (DBA) at Nightwing plays a crucial role in providing technical expertise for database implementation, information storage and retrieval, data flow, and analysis. This position is integral to the development of relational and/or Object-Oriented databases, database parser software, and database loading software. The DBA will work primarily at the front end of the lifecycle, from requirements gathering through system acceptance testing and Initial Operational Capability (IOC). The role involves developing requirements from a project's inception to its conclusion for specific business and Information Technology (IT) subject matter areas, ranging from simple to complex systems. In this capacity, the DBA will assist with recommendations for, and analysis and evaluation of systems improvements, optimization, development, and/or maintenance efforts. The individual will be responsible for transforming a set of requirements and data into usable documents by creating or recreating ad hoc queries, scripts, and macros. This includes updating existing queries, creating new ones to manipulate data into a master file, and building complex systems using queries, tables, Open Database Connectivity, and database storage and retrieval utilizing Cloud methodologies. The DBA will administer programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity, ensuring the integrity, security, and availability of databases. Responsibilities include establishing and maintaining database user accounts, administering and implementing policies and procedures for database security and integrity, organizing and formatting data for efficient query and storage processes, and evaluating requirements to recommend available Database Management System (DBMS) products. The DBA will also provide server administration for various database products, including Oracle, SQL Server, and SYBASE, and perform disaster recovery, performance analysis and tuning, index maintenance, and monitoring of data. Additionally, the DBA will develop policies and procedures to ensure database security and integrity, support data modeling activities through prototype database implementations, coordinate database architecture changes with Database Engineers (DBEs), and direct the monitoring and optimization of database systems. This role requires a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph from Day 1, and candidates must possess an AWS Certified Solutions Architect (CSA) certification and Oracle Professional certification, along with experience in SharePoint, SQL, VMWare, Tableau, and Jira. Experience with MongoDB and/or Postgres, as well as MarkLogic, is desired.
