About the position

CACI is seeking a Database Administrator to join our team in North Charleston, SC, within the Military Health portfolio. This part-time position requires a minimum of a Secret clearance and offers a competitive salary range of $65,000 to $136,500 per year. As a Database Administrator, you will play a crucial role in coordinating with various teams, including external data teams, test teams, developers, and UX designers. Your primary responsibilities will include building and refining application databases based on feature requirements that evolve sprint by sprint, maintaining logical data mapping between application databases and external data sources, and creating and maintaining large test datasets for applications. In this role, you will also be responsible for tracking, versioning, deploying, and rolling back database changes to both production and development databases. You will configure databases to meet cybersecurity requirements, ensure regulatory compliance, and adhere to best practices in database management. Additionally, you will analyze and write complex queries to support metrics gathering, troubleshoot application issues, and diagnose performance problems. Collaboration with development, test, and operations teams will be essential to troubleshoot build breaks, enforce software quality standards, and facilitate the deployment of applications in both non-production and production environments. Staying updated on industry standards and applying innovative solutions will be a key aspect of your role, as will executing MySQL statements to support the development team and manage table migrations during application version deployments. You will also be expected to present ideas for system improvements and conduct impact analyses for software changes.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with multiple teams including external data, test, developer, and UX design teams.
  • Build and refine application databases based on evolving feature requirements.
  • Maintain logical data mapping between application databases and external data sources.
  • Create and maintain large test datasets for applications, ensuring a minimum of thousands of rows.
  • Track, version, deploy, and rollback database changes to production and development databases.
  • Configure databases to meet cybersecurity requirements and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Analyze and write complex queries to support metrics gathering and troubleshoot application issues.
  • Collaborate with development, test, and operations teams to troubleshoot build breaks and enforce software quality standards.
  • Execute MySQL statements to support the development team and manage table migrations during application deployments.
  • Present ideas for system improvements and conduct impact analysis for software changes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience as a Database Administrator.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
  • Team-oriented individual with a strong work ethic and self-motivated.
  • Ability to become Security+ certified within six months of hire.

Nice-to-haves

  • Active Secret clearance.
  • College degree (B.S.) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management Systems or a related discipline.
  • Current Security+ certification.
  • Prior experience with continuous integration, test automation, and/or CI/CD on iterative software development projects.
  • Experience with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
