About the position
The Database Administrator at Barksdale Federal Credit Union is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and monitoring of the company's database system. This role ensures system availability, usability, and survivability while managing reporting systems and developing policies and procedures related to security, backup schedules, and restoration. The incumbent will support team members, meet established deadlines, and keep management informed of area activities, overseeing the development of mid-size systems.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and monitor the company's database system.
- Ensure system availability, usability, and survivability.
- Manage reporting systems and develop policies and procedures for security, backup schedules, and restoration.
- Support team members and ensure established deadlines and client needs are met.
- Keep management informed of area activities.
- Oversee the development of mid-size systems.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least two years of experience with database applications.
- Knowledge of network operations and related computer hardware and software.
- Knowledge of database reporting, user access control, security models, and backup processes.
- Strong customer service skills and willingness to assist others.
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly.
- Attention to detail.
Nice-to-haves
- Data Management and Analytics certification (MCSE) is preferred; willingness to obtain the certification is required.
- Two years of additional college computer training or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
