About the position

CACI is seeking a cleared Database Administrator responsible for managing enterprise database technologies, primarily Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL, at Fort Eisenhower, GA. The role involves ensuring database security, integrity, and performance through installation, configuration, and maintenance of database management systems, as well as providing Tier III support for application technology stacks.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain security and integrity controls.
  • Formulate and monitor policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management.
  • Propose and implement enhancements to improve system performance and reliability.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through workshops and professional publications.
  • Identify customer database requirements and define optimal data models.
  • Incorporate security, backup, and disaster recovery into database designs.
  • Install, configure, and patch database management systems (DBMS).
  • Write database documentation, including data standards and definitions for the data dictionary.
  • Control access permissions and ensure storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly.
  • Conduct capacity planning and communicate with technical staff to ensure database integrity and security.
  • Apply application, security, and database patches and verify scripts for system enhancements.
  • Install and configure third-party products that integrate with the application.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret / SCI Clearance and willingness to obtain a Polygraph.
  • 8570 IAT Level II compliant, such as Security+ CE.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 6 years of related experience or 10-15 years of related experience.
  • Experience with DBMS systems such as MySQL 8, PostgreSQL, and SQLServer.
  • Knowledge of server certificates and ATO processes.
  • Ability to implement alternate authentication methods such as LDAP with DBMS systems.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and improving database solutions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with VMware ESXi for managing Linux guest hosts.
  • Knowledge of Puppet Configuration Management.
  • Shell scripting skills in Bash and PowerShell.
  • Unix/Linux administration skills, preferably in Red Hat Enterprise Linux / CentOS.
  • Experience with Geo-Server, Geo Web Cache, and Open-Layers GIS Tools like ArcGIS.
  • Statistical data management and extraction using Splunk.
  • Basic understanding of LDAP and knowledge of programming languages like Java, Perl, and Python.
