The Database Administrator position within the Division of Employment and Training at the State of Wisconsin is a key role focused on the development and maintenance of databases and data warehouses that support workforce information systems. This position involves ensuring compliance with federal and state programs while collaborating with various stakeholders to meet their data needs. Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain databases and data warehouses for the Bureau of Workforce Information and Technical Support (BWITS).
• Ensure compliance with Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) federal-state cooperative programs and Employment and Training Administration (ETA) Workforce Information Grants (WIG).
• Collaborate with other divisions and external entities to support their data needs.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues reported for IT systems or business users.
• Gather requirements from business users and manage projects for IT solutions/systems.
• Organize and prioritize work to ensure effective and efficient completion of tasks.

Requirements

• Experience in the design and maintenance of Workforce Information Databases.
• Proficiency in using database languages and tools.
• Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve IT system issues.
• Experience in gathering requirements from business users.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in reviewing and updating websites for accessibility compliance.
• Familiarity with visualization and data analysis software such as Tableau, SAP BI, or SAS.
• Experience in developing and maintaining public-facing websites or web applications.
• Knowledge of web frameworks and coding languages such as Bootstrap, SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Python.
