DT Professional Services is seeking a mid-level Database Administrator to join the Electronic Warfare (EW) team on-site at Point Mugu, CA. This position will work on the Electronic Warfare Data Systems (EWDS) Team, supporting the Electronic Warfare systems for many of the U.S. Navy air platforms including EA-18G, MH-60R, and E-2C/D. The Database Administrator will collaborate with various EWDS teams both on and off of NAS Point Mugu to enhance and maintain legacy systems while migrating those capabilities into modernized and networked database architectures and environments. This role requires working closely with Database teams and multiple Software development teams to develop and deploy mission planning and related support software from both internal government teams and third-party vendors. An active DoD issued Top Secret Security Clearance is required for consideration. The Database Administrator will meet weekly with developmental teams to support Fleet Software and Hardware improvement and sustainment efforts. They will gain an understanding of the capabilities and limitations of different databases and interrelated software programs of various Naval Air platform systems and subsystems. The role involves developing and implementing efficient strategies for migrating existing MS SQL Databases to PostgreSQL environments, particularly for application within cloud-based environments such as AWS, Azure, and GCP. Additionally, the Database Administrator will work with development and maintenance teams to design requirements within an Agile environment to meet Support Lab needs, and will collaborate with the Fleet Help Desk support team to define and integrate emergent Fleet needs with scheduled lab tasking. The position also includes supporting the design and testing of database partitioning and schema options to improve data handling efficiencies, troubleshooting and resolving database integrity, performance, blocking/deadlocking, connectivity, and security issues, and developing and maintaining comprehensive database documentation. All tasks will be performed within both existing and developing DevSecOps pipelines.
