About the position

We are recruiting for a Database Administrator who will support the critical functions for mission clients in the Intelligence Community. This role involves developing and implementing databases and database services, such as Aurora, in cloud environments like AWS and Azure. The Database Administrator will engage in database engineering, which includes schema development and designing as well as implementing data ingestion procedures. Additionally, the position requires lightweight data engineering tasks, such as cleaning and conditioning data from various data calls and existing external or stand-alone databases, and loading this data into both local and cloud databases. The role also encompasses SQL design and implementation as part of database creation and maintenance, responding to ADHOC query needs for mission purposes, such as data exports. The Database Administrator will be responsible for designing and building specialized tools that utilize the database to generate custom products, including document automation. There will also be opportunities to contribute significantly to other data science tasks beyond database needs, depending on the candidate's interests and capabilities. This position is critical in ensuring that our mission clients have the necessary data infrastructure to support their operations effectively.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement databases and database services (ex. Aurora) in the cloud (AWS, Azure)
• Engage in database engineering including schema development and designing/implementing data ingestion procedures
• Perform lightweight data engineering tasks such as cleaning and conditioning data from data calls and existing external/stand-alone databases and loading into local and cloud databases
• Design and implement SQL as part of database creation, maintenance, and in response to ADHOC query needs for mission purposes (data export as an example)
• Design and build specialized tools utilizing the database to generate custom products that include document automation
• Contribute significantly to other data science tasks beyond database needs, dependent upon candidate interest and capabilities

Requirements

• Database administration experience, including cloud-based platforms
• Working knowledge of data and ETL topics
• Experience with Cloud DevOps (AWS, Azure)
• Provide audience-appropriate written and verbal communications and demonstrate strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Work with seniors in a diverse, fast-paced, multi-task environment and manage competing priorities
• Demonstrate strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills
• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required
