About the position

The Database Administrator position at MUSC Health plays a crucial role in supporting the organization's goals of ensuring patient access to healthcare services and maintaining the financial stability of the system. This role involves overseeing and developing a comprehensive database of payer contracts and key performance indicators that are essential for monitoring contract and vendor deliverables. The Database Administrator will represent MUSC Health's owned and managed facilities, physician groups, and ancillary services in negotiations with various payers, ensuring that the organization secures high-performing contracts that align with its strategic objectives. In this position, the Database Administrator will be responsible for managing a system-wide portfolio of payer relationships and associated initiatives. This requires collaboration with stakeholders across the health system to ensure that contractual and strategic goals are met effectively. The role also involves working closely with other members of the Managed Care Department to ensure that all contracts are properly identified, negotiated, implemented, audited, and renegotiated in a timely manner. The Database Administrator will provide both proactive and reactive support, maintaining a professional demeanor and demonstrating excellent customer service skills throughout all interactions. Participation in team and project meetings is a key aspect of this role, where the Database Administrator will contribute insights and intelligent solutions aimed at improving operational efficiency. Responsibilities

  • Oversee and develop a system-wide database of payer contracts and key performance indicators.
  • Lead negotiations and maintenance of high-performing contracts with managed care and other payers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in statistics, mathematics, or a related field and three years of progressive related work experience required.
  • Associates Degree from an accredited college/university in statistics, mathematics, or a related field and four years of progressive related work experience required.
  • High School Diploma with six years of progressive related work experience required.
  • PC skills including Excel, PowerPoint, and database management required.
