About the position

As a Database Administrator at IPT Associates (IPTA), you will play a crucial role in ensuring the uptime and performance of databases that are essential to our operations. Located in JBSA Randolph, TX, you will be part of a dynamic team that is dedicated to delivering innovative business solutions using emerging technologies. Your responsibilities will include managing server instances, ensuring data safety through regular backups, and providing support for the installation of new Database Management System (DBMS) versions, including applying necessary maintenance fixes and patches. You will also be tasked with setting and tuning system parameters, optimizing code in collaboration with developers, and managing installations, upgrades, replication, backup, and recovery processes for current databases. In this role, you will implement access control measures, monitor user access, and assess the performance of database systems. You will also provide database assistance to developers as needed and make modifications to the database structure when required. Your ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization will be essential as you work to solve challenging business problems and contribute to the overall success of the team. Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the uptime of the databases applicable to the domain
  • Responsible for the performance of server instances and the safety (backups) of the data in the database
  • Provide the required support for installing new DBMS versions and applying maintenance fixes and patches
  • Set and tune system parameters and other technical DBA responsibilities
  • Work with developers to optimize code
  • Develop, manage and test installations, upgrades, replication, backup and recovery of current databases
  • Implement access control, monitor user access and performance of the database systems
  • Provide database assistance as needed to the developers
  • Make and test modifications to the database structure when needed
  • Maintain the database and update permissions

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in technical discipline desired
  • Experience with working in a mixed OS environment of or not limited to Windows, UNIX, LINUX, etc.
  • Three years of relevant experience
  • Must have experience with Kubernetes, MSSQL, PostgreSQL and MongoDB
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Sec + or other IAT Level II certification required
  • Active Security clearance required
