About the position

As a Database Administrator (DBA) at Robert Half, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the organization's databases. Your role is crucial in ensuring data integrity, availability, and performance while managing database security, backup and recovery, and data governance processes. You will collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to support business operations and facilitate data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement database schemas, tables, indexes, and views to meet business requirements and performance goals.
• Install, configure, and maintain database management systems (DBMS) such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Implement and enforce database security policies, access controls, and encryption mechanisms to protect sensitive data.
• Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data against failures and disasters.
• Monitor database performance metrics and optimize performance using tuning techniques.
• Configure database replication, clustering, or mirroring solutions for high availability and fault tolerance.
• Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations and provide training to IT staff and end-users.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in database administration or a similar role with hands-on experience managing enterprise-scale databases.
• In-depth knowledge of database management systems and SQL query optimization techniques.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex database issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.

Nice-to-haves

• Relevant industry certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional or Microsoft Certified Database Administrator.
