About the position

The Database Administrator at Nightwing plays a crucial role in providing technical expertise for database implementation, information storage, and data analysis. This position involves supporting the development of relational and Object-Oriented databases, as well as database parser and loading software. The DBA will work throughout the project lifecycle, from requirements gathering to system acceptance testing, ensuring the integrity, security, and availability of databases while optimizing performance and implementing best practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise for database implementation and management.
• Support the development of relational and Object-Oriented databases.
• Create and manage database parser software and loading software.
• Develop requirements from project inception to conclusion.
• Assist with recommendations for systems improvements and optimizations.
• Maintain the integrity, security, and availability of databases.
• Establish and maintain database user accounts.
• Administer and implement policies for database security and integrity.
• Organize and format data for efficient query and storage processes.
• Evaluate requirements and recommend suitable DBMS products.
• Perform server administration for various database products including Oracle and SQL Server.
• Conduct disaster recovery, performance analysis, and tuning.
• Develop policies for database security and integrity.
• Support data modeling activities through prototype implementations.
• Coordinate database architecture changes with Database Engineers.
• Direct the monitoring and optimization of database performance.

Requirements

• TS/SCI with polygraph clearance required.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect (CSA).
• Oracle Professional certification.
• Experience with SharePoint, SQL, VMWare, Tableau, and Jira.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with MongoDB and/or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with MarkLogic.
