About the position

As a Database Administrator at EssilorLuxottica, you will play a crucial role in the management and maintenance of the lens commercial catalog. Reporting to the VP of Business Data Solutions and functionally to the Global Commercial Strategy Team, your primary responsibilities will include the creation, maintenance, and lifecycle management of master data related to the lens catalog. This position is pivotal in supporting the Product Assortment strategy and managing Transco Box for entities that have transitioned to the SAP ERP and Operations system. Initially, your focus will be on transitioning master data from the current state to a future state architecture, followed by ramping up operations and support in the new SAP commercial catalog architecture. Your role will involve activating lens orderability on systems, which includes managing tables that detail combinations of lenses for activation, tracking first sales dates, and managing end-of-life processes. You will also support the development, testing, and maintenance of digital catalog interfaces, ensuring seamless integration with EDI ordering portals. Troubleshooting will be a key part of your responsibilities, as you will assist the Operations Team in resolving issues related to blocked sales orders or problems with lens sales order creation, requiring strong analytical skills to identify causes and implement resolutions. Collaboration will be essential in this role, as you will partner with the US Marketing Team to execute lens assortment strategies through effective product lifecycle management, including managing BU catalogs and customer exclusives. Additionally, you will coordinate with Business Units and Operations/Supply Chain for successful planning and execution of Lens New Product Introductions (NPI). Your active participation in lens master data evolution and integration projects will contribute to both corporate and local initiatives, such as Complete Pair initiatives, ensuring that the company remains at the forefront of the eyewear industry.

Responsibilities

  • Lens Commercial catalog master data creation, maintenance and lifecycle management
  • Lens orderability activation on systems, including table with combination of lenses to activate (creation, first sales date) and end of life (last sales date)
  • Support lens sales order entry tools development, test, and maintenance of digital catalog interfaces, including data trans codification for integration with EDI ordering portals
  • Support Operations Team for troubleshooting of blocked sales orders or problems with lens sales order creation; analyzing cause and resolution
  • Partner with US Marketing Team on lens assortment strategy and manage the execution of the assortment through product lifecycle management, including BU catalogs and customer exclusives
  • Coordination with Business Units and Operations/Supply Chain for Lens NPI planning and successful launch execution
  • Active participation in lens master data evolution and integration projects, both corporate and local (i.e. Complete Pair initiatives)

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree
  • 5+ years experience in data governance or master data support role
  • 4+ years experience with SQL database software, or similar database tool
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks/projects
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of data with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and listening) as well as presentation and documentation skills
  • Strong organizational/team-working skills with ability to coordinate in a diverse, dynamic environment

Nice-to-haves

  • Undergraduate data analytics or engineering degree
  • 4+ years of ophthalmic lens / lab services business acumen
  • 2+ years experience in SAP AFS / ECC software (MM module - material management)
  • Experience in SAP ECTR (Engineering Control Center) software
  • Experience with concepts pertaining to nodes, composites, properties and attributes
  • Experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) strategic planning and execution
