About the position

The Database Administrator at Leading Solutions LLC is responsible for the management and maintenance of the organization's databases, specifically at the National Simulation Center located in Fort Gregg-Adams, VA. This role involves ensuring that the company databases are functional, backed up, and adhere to a strict data management policy to prevent memory loss. The Database Administrator will administer, test, and implement computer databases, utilizing their knowledge of database management systems to coordinate changes effectively. In addition to database management, the role requires identifying, investigating, and resolving performance issues related to databases, as well as addressing concerns regarding database capacity and scalability. The Database Administrator may also be tasked with planning, coordinating, and implementing security measures to safeguard the integrity of computer databases. This position is crucial for supporting training events and distributed exercises, particularly in relation to simulation and stimulation databases used by the Army Mission Command Systems. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and have at least two years of experience with simulation databases, providing functional and technical support to Military Command Systems (MCS) requirements. They should also have experience in building databases for federated and sustainment stand-alone use, drawing from authoritative databases and simulated unit structures. Knowledge of M&S databases, LVC-IA, and the Joint Deployment Logistics Model (JDLM) is essential, as is the ability to maintain a Secret DoD Clearance. The work environment is fast-paced, requiring the ability to collect data, define problems, and interpret a variety of instructions effectively.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years' experience providing functional and technical SME support to MCS requirements and scenarios.
  • 2 to 3 years' experience building databases for federated and sustainment stand-alone use.
  • Knowledge of M&S databases, LVC-IA, and Army Mission Command Systems.
  • Experience in supporting databases during exercises and events.
  • Familiarity with Joint Deployment Logistics Model (JDLM) and Joint Master Scenario Event List (JMSEL) databases.
  • Ability to maintain Secret DoD Clearance.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
