About the position

The Database Administrator (DBA) at Clinicas del Camino Real, Inc. plays a crucial role in managing and supporting the organization's database systems. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Applications and Database, the DBA is responsible for database analysis, application template development, and systems administration. This position requires interaction with a diverse user base, including clinical and operational staff, ensuring that database systems meet the needs of various stakeholders. The DBA will be involved in troubleshooting and recovering EHR workstation functionality, supporting patient processing, and clinical tracking and reporting activities. Additionally, the DBA will recommend changes to database management systems and templates based on user feedback and operational requirements. The DBA is also tasked with training employees on system usage, ensuring proper access to the corporate network, and utilizing application software effectively. Adherence to the organization's IT policies and procedures is essential, and the DBA will rely on established guidelines to perform their duties. The role may also involve participation in safety programs, including potential assignments to an emergency response team. Overall, the DBA is expected to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high level of organization and communication with both technical and non-technical staff.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for systems administration and data management tasks.
  • Ensures proper and timely communication and resolution of system issues.
  • Provides systems support to clinic sites and operations users; troubleshooting and recovery of EHR workstation functionality.
  • Supports patient processing, clinical tracking and reporting activities; works with medical providers and IT staff and recommends changes to database management systems and templates.
  • Responsible for training of employees on system use, proper access to the corporate network, use of application software and other related clinical software.
  • Adheres to and promotes compliance with the organization's Information Technology policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned including participation in all safety programs which may include assignment to an emergency response team.

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of work experience as a Database Administrator.
  • Experience using Standard Query Languages (SQL) required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or higher and SQL reporting services.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is preferred.
  • Must have solid organization, communication, and interpersonal skills and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to tailor support to non-technical staff's needs; function in a team-oriented environment, have sensitivity towards others and practice excellent judgment.
  • Must have the ability to conceptualize, launch and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of personnel and treat everyone with respect; must be open and receptive to the needs of the staff.
