About the position

The Database Administrator position at the State Bureau of Investigation involves responsibilities related to database and system administration, including design, implementation, maintenance, and security of databases. The role requires ensuring the performance, availability, and security of OSBI databases, along with proactive monitoring and compliance with database standards.

Responsibilities

  • Support OSBI databases ensuring performance, availability, and security.
  • Manage rollout, upgrades, and patch implementation.
  • Design and document database schemas in collaboration with the development team.
  • Proactively monitor the database system to ensure secure services with minimum downtime.
  • Responsible for database backups and recovery planning.
  • Implement and release database changes as submitted by the development team.
  • Troubleshoot minor network and application problems as needed.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree with database specific coursework or internship experience in Oracle or equivalent administration.
  • Training courses & certifications in Oracle such as Oracle Database Administration.
  • Hands-on experience in a production environment with Oracle 11g, 12c, 19c and higher.
  • Experience collaborating with developers.
  • Experience implementing change management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with RMAN database backup & recovery.
  • Database design experience.
  • Database patching experience.
  • Experience with database exports and migrations from older to newer versions.
  • Setting up and maintaining standby or mirror databases.

  • Full-time position with competitive salary levels ranging from $87,803.81 to $96,803.81.
