The Database Administrator is responsible for analyzing, designing, and developing database servers, structures, instances, tables, and related systems while overseeing data integrity. This role involves establishing physical and logistical database architecture and structures to ensure maximum retrieval and efficiency. The Database Administrator will analyze and resolve user problems related to databases and supporting systems, ensuring that all database applications are installed and supported effectively, particularly those using Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Access. In addition to installation and support, the Database Administrator will design, implement, and maintain the RTC backup and recovery infrastructure, ensuring adequate redundancy and backup operations. This position requires coordination of database structures to maintain integrity, accuracy, security, and performance efficiency. The Database Administrator will also review the design of programs accessing databases to ensure logical and orderly storage, security, selection, and retrieval of information. The role includes designing, implementing, and maintaining ETL and data interfaces, testing new database releases, and determining the impact of installations on existing production systems. The Database Administrator will utilize technology features in SQL Server, such as partitioning, file groups, replication, indexed views, and file streams. Continuous research on new products, methods, and techniques is essential to contribute effectively to the data team effort and accomplish related results as needed.
