About the position

Are you passionate about optimizing performance and safeguarding critical information? We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) to join our growing team! As our DBA, you'll be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, security, and availability of our critical databases. You'll collaborate with various teams to understand data needs and implement efficient and robust database solutions. In this role, you will install, configure, maintain, and optimize various database platforms, with experience in specific platforms like SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, etc., being a plus. You will implement robust data security measures to minimize risk and ensure data integrity. Additionally, you will develop and maintain database backup and recovery procedures, guaranteeing data availability in case of any disruptions. Performance tuning and optimization will be key responsibilities, ensuring efficient data access and retrieval. You will also manage user access and permissions, safeguarding sensitive data while maintaining necessary functionality. Collaboration with developers and other stakeholders will be essential to understand data needs and implement efficient solutions. Staying up-to-date with the latest database technologies and best practices will be part of your ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, maintain, and optimize various database platforms.
  • Implement robust data security measures, minimizing risk and ensuring data integrity.
  • Develop and maintain database backup and recovery procedures, guaranteeing data availability in case of any disruptions.
  • Perform performance tuning and optimization, ensuring efficient data access and retrieval.
  • Manage user access and permissions, safeguarding sensitive data while maintaining necessary functionality.
  • Collaborate with developers and other stakeholders to understand data needs and implement efficient solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest database technologies and best practices.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in the data field (data analyst, database administrator, or similar) and a desire to grow.
  • Experience with SSIS, SSRS, and ETL pipelines.
  • Proficiency in database scripting languages (e.g., T-SQL, PL/SQL).
  • Experience with cloud-based database management (AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, etc.).
  • Knowledge of high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions.
