About the position

Link Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Database Administrator to join our team at Fort Stewart, GA. This position is crucial for supporting the US Army's Southeastern Regional Network Enterprise Center. The Database Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining databases to ensure their reliability, performance, compliance, and security. This role is not only about maintaining existing systems but also involves working on innovative projects that contribute to national security and offer opportunities for professional growth and advancement. The Database Administrator will engage in various tasks including database installation, configuration, and upgrading. Routine maintenance activities such as backups, recovery, and patch management will be part of the daily responsibilities. The role also requires planning, designing, developing, and administering Microsoft database systems, particularly SQL Server and Access. This includes defining base structures, documenting requirements, and establishing operational guidelines to protect sensitive data. In addition to database management, the Administrator will develop data models and plan the architecture, functions, modules, and recovery standards for the databases. Facilitating the automation of business processes by creating databases and database applications is another key responsibility. The role will also involve testing designed applications and web data connections, as well as participating in various phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Furthermore, the Database Administrator will administer SharePoint sites, managing permissions, structure, and content effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Database installation, configuration, and upgrading.
  • Routine maintenance such as backups, recovery, and patch management.
  • Planning, designing, developing and administering Microsoft database systems (SQL Server, Access).
  • Developing data models and planning of architecture, functions, modules, recovery, standards, and implementation.
  • Facilitating the automation of business processes by creating databases and database applications.
  • Testing designed applications and web data connections.
  • Participating in most aspects/phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Administering SharePoint sites, including permissions, structure, and content.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • DoD Secret Clearance required.
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an IAT Level II Certification (CompTIA Security+ CE, CCNA Security Training, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, equivalent or higher).
  • Four (4+) years of relevant experience with a comprehensive understanding of IT database infrastructures.
  • Ability to analyze and determine information needs and elements, data relationships, and attributes, data flow and storage requirements, and data output and reporting capabilities.
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (jQuery preferred).
  • Extensive proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience creating and modifying documentation for technical processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of SQL Server performance tuning, backup, and recovery methods.
  • Ability to work with customers to develop new value-added programs and data solutions with existing structures and new requirements.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment.
