About the position

The Database Administrator at Seneca Holdings is responsible for providing IT support services, particularly in managing and maintaining SQL databases that handle sensitive information. This role involves ensuring data accuracy, security, and availability while supporting various health IT services at the Carl R. Darnall Medical Center. The position requires collaboration with other teams to implement software upgrades and troubleshoot issues, contributing to the overall efficiency of database operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform overall support for multiple databases including confidential business files and personally identifiable information (PII).
• Create, modify, update, and maintain SQL databases.
• Attend meetings to discuss information affecting clinical and administrative automation products.
• Maintain system and security logs, documenting problems and resolutions.
• Make recommendations to improve data accuracy and collection methods.
• Assist in establishing and maintaining databases for automation products.
• Perform data reviews to ensure quality of data input by users.
• Assist in resolving network connectivity problems affecting databases.
• Develop plans and schedules for database installations and migrations.
• Ensure daily database backups are performed and tested weekly.
• Manage and improve database security to sustain confidentiality and integrity.
• Coordinate with others for software releases or hardware upgrades.
• Prepare Software Release/Upgrade Action Plans.
• Provide database re-engineering services to ensure quality data collection.
• Respond to and diagnose problems through discussion with users.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Public Trust Clearance.
• CompTIA Security+ certification.
• SharePoint certification.
• Experience with SQL and software troubleshooting.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with ServiceNow.
• Knowledge of VPN technologies.
