About The Position

As a Database Administrator, you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Your role will involve maintaining the integrity, security, and availability of multiple databases. This includes responsibilities such as disaster recovery, performance analysis and tuning, index maintenance, and monitoring of data. You will administer, maintain, develop, and implement policies and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of the database. Additionally, you will evaluate and recommend available database management system (DBMS) products and perform database and software life cycle activities to ensure the highest level of system performance and availability, as well as compliance with business requirements. In this position, you will perform administration tasks for Oracle, SQL Server, SYBASE, and other DBMS Database and Application servers. You will also organize and format data for efficient query and storage processes, support data modeling activities through prototype database implementations, and collaborate with project managers and developers to plan and implement database projects. Your contributions will be vital in ensuring that the databases are optimized for performance and security, ultimately supporting the mission of GDIT to create a safer, smarter world.
