About the position

The Database Administrator will play a crucial role in enhancing and maintaining legacy systems while migrating capabilities into modernized database architectures. This position involves collaboration with various teams, including database and software development teams, to support mission planning and related software deployment for the US Navy and Marine Corps Intelligence organizations. The role requires an active DoD clearance and U.S. citizenship due to the sensitive nature of the work.

Responsibilities

• Work with EWDS teams at NAS Point Mugu to enhance and maintain legacy systems.
• Migrate existing MS SQL Databases to PostgreSQL environments, particularly in cloud-based settings (AWS/AZURE/GCP).
• Collaborate with software development teams to develop and deploy mission planning support software.
• Meet weekly with developmental teams to support Fleet Software and Hardware improvement efforts.
• Understand the capabilities and limitations of various databases and software programs related to Naval Air platform systems.
• Design requirements within an AGILE environment to meet Support Lab needs.
• Work with Fleet Help Desk support to integrate emergent Fleet needs with scheduled lab tasking.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in database administration or related field.
• Active DoD Clearance (Secret, Top Secret, or Top Secret/SCI) or ability to obtain one.
• Experience with SAFe-AGILE methodologies.
• Baseline knowledge in PostgreSQL, especially for asynchronous updating of large datasets.
• Experience optimizing large and complex datasets for analysis.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous work with US Navy or Marine Corps Intelligence organizations, specifically in ELINT operational or tactical support roles.
