About the position

BDR Solutions is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to support the U.S. Federal Government, specifically within the Department of Justice (DOJ). This hybrid role involves maintaining the integrity, security, and availability of databases while enhancing SharePoint capabilities. The position requires a Top Secret clearance and offers an opportunity to work in a politically sensitive environment, interfacing directly with clients.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains integrity, security, and availability of databases.
  • Supports data modeling activities through prototype database implementations.
  • Establishes and maintains database user accounts.
  • Provides senior level server administration with Oracle and Sybase databases.
  • Coordinates database architecture changes with Principal Database Architect and Scrum Master.
  • Directs monitoring, administration, and implementation of performance on database systems.
  • Optimizes database performance, develops/changing database indices, redesigns database structure, and reloads data into new databases.
  • Plans for transition of the development and/or production environment to new technology.
  • Recommends and plans server recapitalization.
  • Performs server performance tuning and optimization of data loads and extractions.
  • Recommends appropriate procedure, query, or package changes to improve system performance and reliability.
  • Installs and configures database environments and associated storage systems.
  • Performs backups/restores and archives data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent level of experience
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience
  • Must have a fully adjudicated Top Secret security clearance
