As a Database Administrator, you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. In this role, you will maintain the integrity, security, and availability of multiple databases. Your duties will include disaster recovery, performance analysis and tuning, index maintenance, and monitoring of data. You will administer, maintain, develop, and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the database. Evaluating and recommending available database management system (DBMS) products will also be part of your responsibilities. You will perform database and software life cycle activities to ensure the highest level of system performance and availability and compliance with business requirements. Additionally, you will perform administration tasks for Oracle, SQL Server, SYBASE, and other DBMS Database and Application servers. Organizing and formatting data for efficient query and storage processes will be essential. You will support data modeling activities by way of prototype database implementations and work with project managers and developers to plan and implement database projects. This position requires a strong technical background and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains the integrity, security, and availability of multiple databases.
  • Performs disaster recovery, performance analysis and tuning, index maintenance, and monitoring of data.
  • Administers, maintains, develops, and implements policies and procedures for database security and integrity.
  • Evaluates and recommends available database management system (DBMS) products.
  • Performs database and software life cycle activities to ensure system performance and compliance with business requirements.
  • Administers Oracle, SQL Server, SYBASE, and other DBMS Database and Application servers.
  • Organizes and formats data for efficient query and storage processes.
  • Supports data modeling activities through prototype database implementations.
  • Collaborates with project managers and developers to plan and implement database projects.

Requirements

  • Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree + 3 years of related experience.
  • DoD Manual 8570.01-M at the Information Assurance Technical (IA T) Level II role.
  • Top Secret/SCI clearance and ability to obtain and maintain a CI Polygraph.
