About the position

The Database Administrator at the National Simulation Center in Fort Gregg-Adams, VA, is responsible for the management and maintenance of the organization's databases. This role involves ensuring adherence to a data management policy and guaranteeing that company databases are functional and backed up to prevent data loss. The administrator will administer, test, and implement computer databases, applying their knowledge of database management systems. Additionally, they will coordinate changes to computer databases and identify, investigate, and resolve performance issues, capacity concerns, and scalability challenges related to the databases. The position may also require planning, coordinating, and implementing security measures to safeguard computer databases. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and at least two years of experience with simulation and stimulation databases. They should also have experience providing functional and technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) support to Mission Command System (MCS) requirements and scenarios. Furthermore, the candidate should possess two to three years of experience in building databases for federated and sustainment stand-alone use, utilizing authoritative databases, simulated unit structures, personnel, and equipment. Knowledge of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) databases, Live, Virtual, Constructive-Integrated Architecture (LVC-IA), and the stimulation of Army Mission Command Systems in support of training events and distributed exercises is essential. Experience in updating databases based on changes to Training Support Packages provided by the Combined Arms Support Command (CASCOM) is also required. The candidate should have experience supporting databases during exercises and events, as well as familiarity with the Joint Deployment Logistics Model (JDLM) and Joint Master Scenario Event List (JMSEL) databases that support Combined Arms Support Command Post Exercise-Sustainment scenarios. A Secret DoD Clearance is mandatory, and fluency in English is required.

  • Ability to maintain Secret DoD Clearance.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
