About the position

The Database Analyst role at Oxford Global Resources involves maintaining data storage and access through the design of physical databases. The position requires collaboration with project teams to confirm requirements, maintain data dictionaries, and ensure client confidentiality. The analyst will also be responsible for preventive maintenance of equipment, troubleshooting issues, and contributing to team efforts to achieve project goals.

Responsibilities

• Confirm project requirements by studying user requirements and conferring with others on the project team.
• Maintain data dictionary by revising and entering definitions.
• Maintain client confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.
• Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in technical societies.
• Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs, and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Determine changes in physical database by studying project requirements and identifying database characteristics, such as location, amount of space, and access method.
• Change database system by coding database descriptions.
• Protect database by developing access system and specifying user level of access.
• Maintain user reference by writing and rewriting database descriptions.
