About the position

The Database Analyst at Olympic Medical Center is responsible for overseeing the technical design, development, and maintenance of databases and master files for large complex projects. This role involves ensuring database performance, resolving issues, and coordinating with IT staff for effective database implementation and monitoring. The analyst will also analyze long-range storage requirements and support OMC computer application systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and leading the development and testing of systems interfaces.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the technical design, development, and maintenance of databases and master files on large complex projects.
  • Maintain database dictionaries and ensure database performance while resolving problems.
  • Coordinate with IT staff to ensure implementation and monitoring of databases.
  • Analyze and project long-range storage space requirements.
  • Lead complex projects requiring coordination with multiple departments, teams, and vendors.
  • Investigate and resolve complex technical problems within a team setting.
  • Support OMC computer application systems, including analysis, requirements, and system selection.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and manage product upgrades, problem analysis, and resolution.
  • Develop and document systems interface requirements and lead the ordering, development, testing, and monitoring of interfaces.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in computer science or a related field; Bachelor's degree in finance or health care field preferred.
  • 5+ years experience installing, maintaining, and using Microsoft SQL Server, Analysts Services, and Reporting Services.
  • SQL Server Enterprise experience required; database experience with Oracle preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in database design, security, backups, data monitoring, and data management.
  • Experience in a high-capacity storage environment serving over 60 SQL servers is preferred.
  • SharePoint experience required.
  • Experience working as a DBA in a health care system with multiple interfaces feeding and extracting from SQL databases.
  • Experience with Crystal report writing software preferred.
  • Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) highly desirable.
