Total Systems Solutions Consulting Inc. is seeking an Expert Database Analyst to work for our public sector client at the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) in British Columbia. This position is crucial for supporting the deployment of a new Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), specifically the Clinisys Lab Platform, which is being implemented to enhance the efficiency of COVID virus variant testing conducted by the BCCDC. The successful candidate will be expected to work hybrid full-time, totaling 37.5 hours per week, with availability from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific Time. The consultant is expected to start as soon as possible, with a contract length of two years. The project involves significant responsibilities, including data archival to the PDHIS Laboratory Data Archive Solution (Sunset), complex data querying, and presenting information in a human-readable report format. The Database Analyst will also be responsible for integrating information systems, including other Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) such as Sunquest and Excelleris. The role requires the analyst to devise programmatic means of consuming data from the newly implemented LIMS, storing it in tables and data structures within the PDHIS Laboratory Data Archive, and ensuring that the data can be queried for quality assurance and reporting purposes. Reports generated must be exchanged with other information systems via HL7 V2.3 based interfaces. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully working on projects that involve the implementation or upgrading of Laboratory Information Systems, particularly with integration via HL7. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential, as is the ability to work effectively with geographically distributed teams. The role demands a high level of organization and the ability to deliver complex projects within fixed timeframes, all while working part-time.
