About the position

The Research Database Analyst II at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) plays a crucial role in supporting data stewardship for the FormsNet application, which is integral to the Center for Blood & Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR) network. This position involves product ownership, ensuring the application meets the needs of stakeholders, and facilitating accurate data submissions from network centers. The analyst will act as a liaison, manage the product lifecycle, and contribute to the development of training materials while aligning operational capabilities with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage product definition by staying informed of stakeholder/customer needs to assess and evolve product functionality.
  • Lead the prioritization process and direct defined work with team collaboration and communication to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to confirm that the system meets requirements.
  • Serve as the content knowledge expert for all pathways and work processes that support product deliverables.
  • Maintain documentation and engage leadership in discussions about future operational needs.
  • Provide input and participate in the development of training materials.
  • Communicate technical information and concepts in various formats to diverse audiences.
  • Assist in training of Data Operations staff.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of quality assurance and technical business consultation.
  • Experience with Agile software delivery methodology.
  • Familiarity with FormsNet or similar research databases and electronic data capture systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio and big data environments.
  • Understanding of data governance and industry standard applications and vocabulary.
  • Ability to write User Stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Strong customer focus and ability to build trust.
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and influencing skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a healthcare or academic medicine environment.
