About the position

The Database Analyst II at the Medical College of Wisconsin plays a crucial role in supporting data stewardship functions, particularly focusing on the FormsNet application for the Center for Blood & Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR) network. This position involves product ownership, ensuring the application meets business needs, and acting as a liaison for accurate data submission. The analyst will manage product lifecycle, engage with stakeholders, and contribute to training and documentation efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Manages product definition by staying informed of stakeholder/customer needs to assess and evolve product functionality.
  • Leads the prioritization process and directs defined work with team collaboration and communication to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participates in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to confirm that the system meets requirements.
  • Serves as the content knowledge expert for all pathways and work processes that support product deliverables.
  • Maintains documentation and engages leadership in discussions about future operational needs.
  • Provides input and participates in the development of training materials.
  • Communicates technical information and concepts in various formats to diverse audiences.
  • Aligns capabilities and developments with organizational vision while overseeing current state deliverables.
  • Assists in training of Data Operations staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in data analysis, data management, or project management in a clinical research environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Experience with quality assurance and Agile software delivery methodology.

Nice-to-haves

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in a clinical research environment.
  • Experience with FormsNet or similar research databases.
  • Knowledge of big data environments and data governance.
