About the position

The University of Miami in Miami, FL is seeking a Database Analyst, Intermediate. This position is expected to monitor and maintain existing medical databases, troubleshoot and resolve user issues. The analyst will be responsible for designing, installing, and configuring new medical databases of types such as MySQL/MariaDB, MS SQL, and Oracle. Additionally, the role involves providing and modifying user access to databases, performing data loads, database restoring, and other migrations. The Database Analyst will also create and maintain documentation of database server inventory, standard operating procedures, and other administrative team documentation. To enhance their skills in database administration, the analyst will work closely with a Senior Database Administrator (DBA), engage in self-learning through online video tutorials, reading materials, and vendor training, and perform other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain existing medical databases.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve user issues.
  • Design, install, and configure new medical databases (MySQL/MariaDB, MS SQL, Oracle).

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Access.
  • Experience with Oracle databases.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Mid-level SQL database administration skills.
  • Familiarity with MySQL and MariaDB.
