Join Sanborn's award-winning team! Sanborn is looking to fill a Database Analyst (Intermediate) position. The position is responsible for analytical and programming support on forest inventory compilation & analysis projects. These projects are highly technical in nature and shall require advanced skillsets, using government agency corporate databases. The Database Analyst will analyze, design, construct, test, and maintain specialized computer applications, database applications, and utility programs related to forestry, vegetation inventory, and natural resource information. The successful candidate must have demonstrated skills in scripting and tool development including the use of Visual Basic .Net, C#, C++, Python, SQL, and/or Java, for developing and maintaining database loading, updating, extracting, and reporting utilities. This role provides relational database analysis and scripting skills to a small team of GIS and Natural Resource professionals in application design, development, and maintenance of existing databases and associated computer programs. The candidate will also participate, coordinate, and submit all proposed initial work/changes through any established configuration control board prior to development for disposition on the requested change, with relevant supporting documentation. Approved changes must be documented/updated within the parameters established. If development exceeds the authority within Information Management, the candidate must be able to work collaboratively with the Chief Information Office to facilitate an understanding of the need, supporting any party the CIO assigns to complete the effort. This is a remote position that reports to the office in Vallejo, CA. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or other related Science with a minor in database programming, with a Master's Degree being highly desired. The candidate should have 5 years of intensive and progressive experience in a field requiring extensive use of GIS and related tools, along with knowledge of scripting languages such as R, R Studio, Python, and VBA.
