About the position

The Database Analyst at NYU Langone Health is responsible for maintaining data storage, assessing database design, and interpreting statistical information from databases. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain informational dashboards, data reports, and database systems, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently and securely.

Responsibilities

• Maintain database development and modification efforts in collaboration with Systems Engineer.
• Design and implement secure, efficient, and accurate databases.
• Ensure databases meet specifications and security requirements.
• Complete database projects in a timely manner.
• Assist in identifying and resolving production and application development problems related to database management systems.
• Gather, organize, and interpret statistical data to provide reports.
• Work closely with project managers to understand analytical needs and deliver actionable insights.
• Proactively analyze data to answer key questions and identify areas for improvement.
• Create and maintain interactive visualizations through data interpretation and analysis.
• Define and implement data acquisition and integration logic for optimal scalability and performance.
• Develop and maintain databases by acquiring data from primary and secondary sources.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience with Business Intelligence, Analytics, or Data Warehousing technologies.
• At least two years of experience working with MS SQL.
• Ability to write intermediate/advanced queries using T-SQL.
• Experience with large structured and unstructured datasets.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Hands-on experience with gathering business requirements and designing technical architecture.
• Strong data visualization skills, particularly with Tableau.
• Detail-oriented with strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Typing speed of 35 words per minute or greater on assessment.
• Basic knowledge of Excel.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience with Cisco telephony system, Kronos, and Verint.
