About the position

As a Database Analyst/Technical Targeting at GDIT, you will play a crucial role in transforming data into actionable insights for our clients. Your work will address significant big-data challenges and contribute to advancing our clients' missions. This position is not just about managing databases; it's about making a meaningful impact on the safety and intelligence of our operations. You will analyze customer requirements and provide technical solutions to complex problems, applying your knowledge of APIs for data services and databases. In this role, you will design, develop, build, analyze, evaluate, install, and administer database management systems. This includes database modeling and design, relational database architecture, and the creation and management of metadata and repositories. You will be responsible for implementing databases with a focus on access methods, access time, batch processes, device allocation, validation checks, organization, ETL tasks, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods. Your expertise will be essential in preparing system requirements, conducting source analysis, and performing process analyses and design throughout the database implementation. You will define database organizations, standards, controls, procedures, and documentation, ensuring that you maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies. Additionally, you may coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals and may serve as a team or task lead, further enhancing your leadership skills and contributing to the development of your team members.

Responsibilities

• Analyze customer requirements and provide technical solutions to complex problems.

• Implement databases with respect to access methods, access time, batch processes, device allocation, validation checks, organization, ETL tasks, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods.
• Prepare system requirements, source analysis, and process analyses and design throughout the database implementation.
• Define database organizations, standards, controls, procedures, and documentation.
• Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
• Coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals.
• Serve as a team or task lead.

Requirements

• 5+ years of related experience in database analysis and design.
• 3+ years of customer-specific experience is required.
• Ability to identify and assess the right entities and vulnerabilities and technology trends for new collection operations.
• Strong analytic, research, and investigative skills combined with operational sense and personal initiative.
• Experience in Intelligence Operations / Analysis / Support to Field Operations is desired.
• Experience identifying targeting leads through the exploitation of all-source databases and specialized tools is desired.
• Experience using customer databases to monitor field traffic and communicate with field offices is desired.
• Formal training or certification as a Technical Targeter is desired.
• Overseas experience supporting collection operations and information sharing.
