About the position

As a Database Analyst/Technical Targeting at GDIT, you will play a crucial role in transforming data into actionable insights for our clients. Your expertise will help address significant big-data challenges and advance the mission of our clients. This position is not just about managing databases; it’s about making a meaningful impact on the safety and intelligence operations of our nation. You will be responsible for analyzing customer requirements and providing technical solutions to complex problems, ensuring that our clients can effectively utilize their data resources. In this role, you will apply your knowledge of API (Application Programming Interface) for data services and databases. You will design, develop, build, analyze, evaluate, install, and administer database management systems. This includes database modeling and design, relational database architecture, and the creation and management of metadata and repositories. You will also be tasked with implementing databases that consider access methods, access time, batch processes, device allocation, validation checks, organization, ETL tasks, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods. Your responsibilities will extend to preparing system requirements, conducting source analysis, and performing process analyses and design throughout the database implementation. You will define database organizations, standards, controls, procedures, and documentation, while maintaining current knowledge of relevant technologies. Additionally, you may coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals and may serve as a team or task lead, contributing to the overall success of the project and the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze customer requirements and provide technical solutions to complex problems.
  • Apply knowledge of API for data services and databases.
  • Design, develop, build, analyze, evaluate, install, and administer database management systems.
  • Implement databases considering access methods, access time, batch processes, and security.
  • Prepare system requirements, source analysis, and process analyses throughout database implementation.
  • Define database organizations, standards, controls, procedures, and documentation.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology and trends.
  • Coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals.
  • Serve as a team or task lead when necessary.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of related experience in database analysis and management.
  • 7+ years of customer-specific experience is required.
  • Ability to identify and assess the right entities and vulnerabilities for new collection operations.
  • Strong analytic, research, and investigative skills combined with personal initiative and technical expertise.
  • Experience in Intelligence Operations/Analysis/Support to Field Operations is desired.
  • Experience identifying targeting leads through the exploitation of all-source databases and specialized tools is desired.
  • Experience using customer databases to monitor field traffic and communicate with field offices is desired.
  • Formal training or certification as a Technical Targeter is desired.
  • Overseas experience supporting collection operations and information sharing is preferred.
